The move paid off when Nelly signed a deal with Universal Records. His popularity in Missouri proved no fluke with the launch of the single "Country Grammar." The entire country was swept up in his sound and his debut album remained at the top of the chart for several weeks.

*NSYNC's Justin Timberlake returned the favor by appearing on the song "Work It" from Nelly's upcoming sophomore set, Nellyville, which is due out June 25. Nelly shared with LAUNCH that the recording session started out a little rough.

"It's a duet between her and Nelly," Dupri said. "It's the jump-off. It's really just a record about when you need a friend, somebody you need to talk to, just call on a person. It's a friend record. It ain't really a boyfriend/girlfriend record. The way Nelly and Janet is talking is more girlfriend/boyfriend, but it really goes out to friends."
