When Abby (PAULEY PERRETTE) runs a demonstration finger-print search for a troop of boys brought in to NCIS by Agent McGee (SEAN MURRAY), she makes the startling discovery that one of the young men has been kidnapped. The team takes custody of Carson (guest star DOMINIC SCOTT KAY) until his father, a survivalist, can be located and the truth uncovered. Along the way, the investigators realize Carson is a young DiNozzo (MICHAEL WEATHERLY) in the making.

Under the Freedom of Information Act, frequent Memory Hole contributor Michael Ravnitzky asked the Navy's entertainment liaison for email between the NCIS and "NCIS" series staff. The messages comprising text have been scanned and put into an Acrobat document (first link, above). Many emails included attachments of photos showing various aspects of the actual NCIS - agents, offices, labs, interrogation rooms, weapons, vehicles, forensic equipment, and a visit by actress Pauley Perrette, who plays Abby Sciuto on the show. Instead of simply sending these JPEG files on disk, which could easily be placed online, the NCIS sent the photos as low-resolution printouts, which were scanned and posted as a gallery (second link, above).

Like her character Abby Sciuto on NCIS (Tuesdays at 8 pm/ET on CBS), Pauley Perrette is much more than her many tattoos and dyed-black hair. Perrette revealed to TV Guide her less-than-stereotypical sensibilities, including a Southern background and an education very handy for portraying a forensic scientist. This year, Pauley was watching her favorite show (with the exception of "NCIS"), "America's Most Wanted," when she learned about two open murder cases. The first was that of RAVEN JEFFRIES, a seven-year-old from Detroit, MI, and the second was SHANNON PAULK, an 11-year-old from Prattville, AL.

The best character on “NCIS” – and, by no coincidence, the cutest – is the pigtail-sporting Goth girl known as Abby. Her last name on the show is Sciuto, but it might as well be Gilmore, given that she’s forever hopped up on caffeine (every agent knows that providing her with her favorite beverage – called Caff-Pow! – is the surest way for her to get results more quickly) and making pop culture references that Gibbs never, ever, ever gets. Seriously, Perrette couldn’t be any more adorable.
