- Tom Brown -- Navy Seals
Tom Brown was always a visionary. At the age of 16, he talked his way into MIT. But finding himself too young, too green, he left MIT and joined the Navy, where he was first introduced to electronics. After the Navy he talked his way into MIT again, this time earning a degree in general engineering in 1949. - Us Navy
The US Navy, the largest user of diesel in the world, is attempting to increase the use of cleaner, domestically produced fuels in its fleet. The memorandum, issued in March, is applicable to all Navy and Marine non-tactical diesel vehicles. Currently, a number of US Navy, Army, Air Force and Marines bases in California, Washington DC, Pennsylvania, Hawaii and Washington use biodiesel in their fleets. In 2003, Naval Base Ventura County in Port Hueneme, California began a pilot project to produce biodiesel onsite from waste cooking oil using mobile processing units. The pilot plant has the capacity to produce one million gallons of biodiesel, of which the base uses 20,000, and supplies the remaining to Ventura County and Channel Islands National Park. The use of mobile processing units may eventually allow the Navy to produce its own fuel in bases around the country and overseas. - Us Navy -- Miscellaneous
The San Diego takes great pride in the men and women who have served in the US Navy and is a supportive place to live for recruits, naval families and career officers. It is always a moving event to see the military march at Padres games. You can be sure that when the Navy football team comes to Qualcomm stadium to play in a bowl game, they are well-represented in the stands! - Superfrog -- Superfrog Triathlon
Superfrog is one of the oldest triathlons in the sport, over 27 years old. It takes place at the U.S. Navy’s Naval Amphibious Base on Coronado Island, California. Within that sprawling facility is the ultra-secure, top secret Naval Special Warfare Center, the home of the U.S. Navy SEALs. Behind high walls ringed in concertina wire, guarded through binoculars by day and night vision goggles at night the Navy prepares candidates for inclusion into the elite SEAL teams at the Basic Underwater Demolition School, BUDS. This is ... the home of SEAL Team 5, SEAL Team 1 and SEAL Team 3, each one operational Navy SEAL units. - Michael Biehn -- James Cameron
The Abyss is a 1989 science fiction film which was written and directed by James Cameron, starring Ed Harris, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, and Michael Biehn. The original music score was composed by Alan Silvestri. It was released on August 9, 1989 in the United States. - Tom Brown -- Stalking Wolf
Tom is the author of 16 books (for an overview of his books see the Booklist). Seven are field guides for living in nature. The other books are based upon the life and adventures of Tom as a student of Stalking Wolf, tracker of criminals and searcher of spiritual truths. - Resident Evil 0 -- Rebecca Chambers
Before the events of Resident Evil, the residents of Raccoon City lived their lives unaware of the dark fate that surrounded them. Now, along with your S.T.A.R.S. Bravo Team, you're sent in to investigate a series of grisly murders in the area. As Rebecca Chambers, a rookie cop, or Billy Cowen, an escaped convict, you'll fight zombies, solve challenging puzzles, and slowly uncover the truth behind the murders. - Jim Carrey -- Christmas Carol
According to his family, Jim Carrey was an extrovert at a very early age. As a small child, he would perform for anyone who would pay attention, and even sent in his resume to Carol Burnett when he was ten! - Antoine Fuqua -- Bruce Willis
Antoine Fuqua's follow-up to Training Day stars Bruce Willis as a Navy SEAL officer on a mission to rescue a beautiful doctor (Monica Bellucci) from war-torn Nigeria. But when she insists that the refugees under her care come with them, the journey becomes much more complicated. - Nat Hentoff -- Patriot Act
Nat Hentoff: The dissenter was Clarence Thomas. The significance of the ruling had nothing to do with the Patriot Act. This was an executive order by Bush, all by himself, although he'd gotten advice from Alberto Gonzales and other people in the Administration. The case was called Hamdi v. Rumsfeld, because it was the Department of Defense, headed by Donald Rumsfeld, that was holding him. Rumsfeld has had almost no accountability for some of his decisions; he is a big fan of Special Forces, Navy Seals, et cetera, and it's now turning out that they're the ones who are involved in these interrogations and abuses of prisoners.
