built 176 days ago
Naturists seeking a relaxing holiday in Mid Wales are invited to hire a caravan at Tan-y-fford, a smallholding at Penuwch, near Tregaron. The caravan is set in its own field in a valley and has a small stream running along the lower end of the field. There is direct access to a secluded "secret garden" for private sunbathing. For further information contact Gordon and Liz on 01974 821559 or email gj_gilbert@compuserve.com

The first English naturists adopted the name Gymnosophy as a thinly disguised euphemism for their pastime. The English Gymnosophical Society was formed in 1922 and became the New Gymnosophy Society in 1926, they purchased the land at 'Bricketts Wood' to become Britain's first nudist colony. One of the first members was Gerald Gardner, who in 1945, established the 'Five Acres Club' nearby, ostensibly as a nudist club, but as a front for Wiccans

The Naturist Guide to Great Britain by David Martin is recommended by many naturists. The style is somewhat rambling and inclined to reflect the personal whims and prejudices of the author ( and why not - if you share them !) This type of guide depends heavily on hearsay and gets out of date quickly - but the latest edition is available from Coast and Country Publications at the address shown below.
