Napoleon: Allies
built 277 days ago
Since Napoleon was the ruler of France, he was in control of Louisiana (which was many times larger than present day Louisiana). He originally intended to use Louisiana as a "breadbasket," but decided it would be better to sell it. While he was in the bathtub, of all places, Napoleon sold Louisiana to the United States of America. The Napoleonic Code governs the State of Louisiana to this day.

One of the most recognizable historical figures of all time, which explains why Napoleon is the only character to appear in both Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure and Time Bandits. Same goes for why you can always find one in any well-stocked insane asylum.

Napoleon leads to the first trick, and winner of each trick leads to the next. Throughout the play it is compulsory to follow suit, and a player who has no card of the suit led can play any card. The first trick is played without trumps, and the maiti, sei-jakku and ura-jakku do not yet have their special status as high cards. The normal ranking of cards A-K-Q-J-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2 therefore applies to all suits, and the trick is won by the highest card of the suit that Napoleon led. The winner of each trick leads to the next.

Later on, after ostracizing Snowball as Stalin placed Trotsky in exile, Napoleon ordered the construction of a windmill, which had been designed by Snowball and which he had opposed vigorously. When the primitive windmill collapses due to Napoleon's poor planning, a reference to Stalin's backward approach to the Five-Year-Plans, he blames Snowball and starts a wave of terror. During this period he orders the execution of several of the animals after coercing their "confessions" of wrongdoing. He ... changes the Seven Commandments' prohibition against killing. He then commands the building of a second, stronger windmill while severely cutting rations to all of the animals — except the pigs and dogs.

Life as a house-pet isn't much fun for young Muffin, a precocious puppy who dreams of being a "wild dog" and who prefers to think of himself as Napoleon. His adventure begins at a childrens' birthday party, where he frolics playfully with the children until he lands in a basket that has several helium balloons tied to it. All of a sudden he and the basket are carried away. Eventually he lands on the distant rocky shore of Sydney Harbour. There he is befriended by a chatty parrot-like Galah named Birdo Lucci (Philip provides the voice for Birdo).

All of the other floats featured in the parade were designed for the use by the Corps de Napoleon by McKinley Cantrell. All member and Court costumes, as well as the maids plumed collars are designed and fabricated by D&D Creations, owned by Diane and Ray Barrilleux.
