Mythbusters: Jamie Hyneman
built 636 days ago
Mythbusters hosts Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage Mythbusters stars Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, two special effects artists who try to prove or disprove myths, urban legends, and improbable sayings. Each week, the duo takes on three myths and uses modern-day science to show what is real and what is fiction. In the process, Mythbusters makes a lot of noise and generates a lot of pyrotechnics.
The 'Mythbusters' Take On the Hindenburg The TV show “Mythbusters” made models of the Hindenburg to see what role its skin had in the disaster, left. Jamie Hyneman, a host, said he and the team “don’t have any pretense of teaching science.”

New Discovery Channel School DVD releases include MythBusters. Is it fact or fiction? Special effects experts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman take urban legends and put them to the scientific test. From surviving a plane crash to training a goldfish, the MythBusters team designs an experiment to prove whether it's possible or another myth busted. The concepts presented in each video will have students looking at science in a whole new way. Titles in this series include:
Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, the original MythBusters The thoroughness to which the MythBusters test myths is often unclear due to the time constraints of the episodes. Adam and Jamie have alluded to this many times on the show, and during the Outtakes Special, they specifically stated that while they in fact are very thorough in testing myths and repeat experiments many times in many different configurations, it is simply impossible to display all of it on the show. Beginning in Season 5 they have prompted viewers to visit the show's website[1] to see less edited versions of experiments, additional scientific explanations, or unaired myths or experiments related to aired ones for each episode. Also, in response to criticism over testing myths incorrectly, the team has produced several "Myths Revisited" episodes, in which they retest myths to see if viewers' complaints have merit. These episodes have resulted in overturning results of several myths, as well as upholding results for different reasons than originally concluded.
This family friendly event is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to see the ‘MythBusters’ in action. The presentation will include a lecture by Savage and Hyneman followed by a “bloopers” video from the show and ending with a question and answer session. Although this is a free event, you must have a ticket in order to attend. The tickets will be available beginning Feb. 1st in three locations: Taco Bell Arena box office, Boise State University Student Union Building Information Desk, and the BSU West Student Services office, room 107.
Mythbusters Book - Don't Try This at Home It's a tough job separating truth from urban legend, but the MythBusters are here to serve. For example, is it true that if you step in quicksand , you'll be sucked down to your death? Only two men would be inventive - and adventurous - enough to try to find out: Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, the MythBusters. Each week, hosts Savage and Hyneman, both special effects experts, use modern science to put another three urban legends to the test on their popular TV show. In this book, you'll learn how they either "busted" or confirmed fifteen myths on their show, often with spectacular results. Here are just some of the urban legends in this book:
