Mysterio

Spider-Man: Mysterio's Menace is no cakewalk. As you seek out the key items within each level and get to the bottom of a series of technology thefts, you'll have to deal with hundreds of hired goons and six of Spidey's toughest archvillains. There are hordes of gun-toting, muscle-bound thugs, all of which do their best to punch, kick, and flail Spidey when he's down. Sometimes it's overwhelming to have to sneak around so much and avoid the head-to-head battle, but Spider-Man rewards your patience with the joy of exploration and discovery. Each level has plenty of tunnels, tubes, and shortcuts to uncover, many of which will make your journey a lot easier. The boss battles are challenging as well, as each villain, be it Rhino, Hammerhead, Big Wheel, Scorpion, or Mysterio, has his own specific weakness to exploit--and the weaknesses aren't entirely obvious from the outset, either.

Mysterio is the alias of three related fictional characters, all supervillains in the Marvel Comics universe and enemies of Spider-Man. The original Mysterio was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. His first appearance was in Amazing Spider-Man #13, although it was later retconned that the aliens seen in Amazing Spider-Man #2 had been Mysterio and his men in disguise. [1]

Mysterio has the distinction of a high flying style that helped launch the cruiserweight revolution in the United States of America during his time in the World Championship Wrestling. He began his training with his uncle Rey Misterio, Sr. At the age of fifteen, he made his wrestling debut in a tiny church in Tijuana, Mexico. Rey Mysterio was technically too young to receive a license at this time, but there was not a lot of enforcement. He started a feud with Psicosis, a wrestler who had ... been trained by Misterio, and began to use the ring name Colibrí, which means “hummingbird” in Spanish. This feud would endure for many years, continuing even after Mysterio’s career had moved to the United States of America.

Mysterio would later defend his title against Mark Henry. Mysterio won the match, after Chavo Guerrero came to the ring as the referee was down and hit the "World's Strongest Man" with a steel chair. When the referee regained consciousness, Rey had used a trick of Eddie Guerrero's and pretended to be knocked out and left the challenger holding the chair and eventually won via DQ. Mysterio would then start a feud with King Booker after Booker won a Battle Royal to become the number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship. King Booker attacked Rey from behind backstage with the help of Booker's wife Queen Sharmell. The attack was not shown live and was during the beating of Mark Henry by Batista.

Mysterio plays a significant role in the 2000 Spider-Man PC, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, and PlayStation game, voiced by Daran Norris. He frames Spider-Man by disguising himself as the hero and steals the reformed Dr. Octopus' new machine. However, Mysterio secretly works for Dr. Octopus, who has only pretended to reform. Later, Spider-Man and Mysterio confront each other in The Daily Bugle's basement. Mysterio increases his size to fifty feet, and Spider-Man must destroy his power source to return the villain to his normal size. After defeating him in battle, Spider-Man forces Mysterio to give him information on a coming symbiote invasion.
