Since 2000 Mya works as a professional musician and since 2001 she is the leader of her band “Mya N”. Her first album was sponsored by Swiss Radio DRS II after winning the Generations Award 2000 in Frauenfeld. In autumn 2004 her second album was produced and released by All Star Production Schweiz. After touring Switzerland and following 3 TV performances the third album is now in production. Mya N is performing as a solist (Piano-Off-Stage Festival in Lucerne 2004 & 2006) and is entertaining regularly in Jazz bars, i.e. “Terrasse” in Zurich and “Des Arts” in Basel. She is ... working as a pianist or vocalist in a number of projects with musicians of the national or international Jazz or Pop scene.

POSTED 8/23/07 Mya was dropped at a shelter holding pen overnight...apparently they didn't want the 2 dogs they dropped. She is absolutely beautiful, but VERY scared. For her size she does pull on a leash and is REALLY strong. She can be spooky in a new situation, plays well with the dogs, but does play rough. She barks when playing and weighs between 40-50 lbs. She would do well with an experienced site hound parent.

Mya is showing her man a different side of her. She’s being his waitress, his mistress, his everything, but not for long. She’s being all these things as a soon to be slap in the face for cheating on her. The beat is a hard hand clap which goes well with the hard lyrics. Mya wants to give her man something to remember her by before she leaves him. She continues to “Switch It Up” at the end of the song when she begins a little rap verse. This is something people aren’t used to hearing from Mya.

Mya was originally known for her dancing, but when she focused her attention on singing, nothing could stop her perfect set of pipes from nudging their way onto the airwaves between the likes of Brandy and Aaliyah. Her production team keeps the beats tight -- especially when her cast of collaborators features such heavyweights as Babyface, Swizz Beatz, Dru Hill, Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott, and Wyclef Jean. Fear of Flying (2000) hit the charts nearly as hard as her self-titled debut in 1998, and it doesn't look like she'll be stopping anytime soon.

Mya is best known for her soulful singing on R&B and rap hits such as "Ghetto Superstar" (with Pras and O.D.B.) and "Fallen" (with Chingy). Mya grew up in Washington, D.C., then moved to New York to establish herself as a singer and dancer. She signed a record deal with Interscope Records in 1998 and released a self-titled debut album that included the hits "Movin' On" and "It's All About Me." Since then she has released two more albums, Fear of Flying (2000) and Moodring (2003), and made her mark in videos, movies and video games. She has collaborated with many R&B and hip-hop artists, including Missy Elliott and Jay-Z, and in 2001 performed with Pink, Christina Aguilera and Lil Kim in the video "Lady Marmalade" (from the movie Moulin Rouge). She has ... appeared in the films Chicago (2002, with Queen Latifah) and Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights (2004), and in the James Bond video game Everything or Nothing (2004).

Mya was born in Washington, D.C., where she took dance classes as a child. After briefly losing interest in the art, she returned to dancing in her pre-teens, eventually joining the dance troupe T.W.A. (Tappers With Attitude).
