Pressel, 18, was born in Tampa, Fla., not far from Busch Gardens Africa. She spent much of her childhood in South Florida, where she regularly visited parks operated by Busch Entertainment Corp. BEC parks in Florida include Busch Gardens, SeaWorld Orlando, Discovery Cove and Adventure Island. Aquatica, SeaWorld's water park, is scheduled to open next spring.

Is there some reason Morgan doesn't want Michelle in the field? YES. Morgan Pressel hates Michelle Wie. It is as simple as that. If she didn't actually hate Michelle Wie before the Open, the sight of Michelle Wie celebrating with Birdie Kim got her to hate Wie.

Completely dominating the other 155 golfers during the Amateur, Morgan showed that she was second best to no one this time and was considered to be the favorite at this event. In June, Pressel came in runner-up at the U.S. Women's Open after being tied for the lead when Birdie Kim sunk an unbelievable bunker shot. Probably a more hurtful defeat occured at the U.S. Girls' Junior Amateur last month when her opponent chipped in to win from about 40 feet.

Having not played golf in college, it’s easy to see how Pressel found the Solheim Cup team win to be such an enjoyable experience. “It was one of the best weeks I’ve ever had. That, winning the (2005 U.S.) Amateur, winning the Kraft and finishing second at the (2005 U.S.) Open were all awesome experiences but the Solheim Cup is almost above all of those. It was really special because these are players and team mates who you play golf with but, when you spend a week together, you really get to know people and make some great friends. It was really cool.”

Pressel is no stranger to the spotlight that awaits her at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club. It was here six years ago that she splashed into the 2001 Open as the youngest player ever to qualify. At 12 years old, she shot a medalist score of 70 at a sectional qualifying event at Bear Lakes Country Club in Boca Raton, Fla., thrusting open the curtain on her career.
