Morgan Pressel Morgan Pressel is a 19-year-old professional golfer who, when 12, became the youngest player ever to qualify for the Ladies Professional Golf Associaton tour. She won her first major tournament in April and was the youngest ever to do that, too. She's ranked among the top golfers in the world.

Less than one year after graduating high school, Morgan Pressel has made it into the history books. On April 1, the 18-year-old golfer became the youngest woman ever to win the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) Tour championship. The previous record-holder, Sandra Post, of Canada, was 20 years old when she won the LPGA championship in 1968.

Morgan lost her mother, Kathy Krickstein Pressel, to cancer two years ago this September. It started in her breast and eventually moved to the brain. Morgan was just 15 back then, a golf phenom who was supposed to play her first tournament in Europe. She'd already made headlines when she was 12: the youngest girl to qualify for the U.S. Women's Open. Morgan was on with Bryant Gumbel, the TV camera lighting up her braces.
KAPALUA RESORT, MAUI, HI — Kapalua Resort announced today that LPGA player Morgan Pressel will be the resort's official LPGA Touring Professional. Pressel will represent the resort at LPGA tournaments and will be playing at the inaugural Kapalua LPGA Classic scheduled for October 2008 on The Bay Course at Kapalua Resort in Maui, Hawai‘i.
