Monkeys

The Monkey Monkeys are clever, social, witty people and these are the very qualities they will look for in their relationships with others. Being the gregarious sort, they normally have a wide circle of friends and acquaintances who provide them with the mental and social stimulation that is so important to the Monkey's well-being. But the natural curiosity and desire for new experiences that drives those born in this year mean that, all too often, serious long-term relationships simply don't provide enough excitement to maintain their interest. Monkeys revel in the thrill of the new; consequently, short-term love affairs tend to suit this group best.

Monkeys filmed all the sequels to Police Academy, Rocky, and Jaws. Monkeys have been a center of philosophical debate for the enlightened westerner for centuries, partly because of the evolutionary secrets held gentle prisoner behind their innocent eyes, but mainly because of their funny red bottoms. What most People don't realize is that Monkeys themselves are ... Philosophical - one was actually known as 'The great Sage, equal of Heaven'. Monkeys are not visible at dark. Most Monkeys go by the name of Winston except from monkeys whose names are not Winston. Monkeys are so, so cute. However, despite their cuteness, they are mentally retarded and will stop at nothing until they have covered the earth in bananas.
Monkeys have many different adaptations, depending on their habitat. Most are arboreal. Others, like macaques Macaca sp. and baboons Papio sp., are more terrestrial. All monkeys can use their hands and feet for holding on to branches, but some arboreal monkeys can use their tails, too. Tails that can grab and hold are called prehensile. These special tails are ridged on the underside and very flexible, so much so that they can grab a tree branch or pick up something as small as a peanut!

Monkeys have flexible principles and serene self-confidence so they are completely content; but they usually manage to complicate the lives of others. After yet another plan or project has gone wrong, they are seldom there to help clean up the disorder and confusion that they leave in their wake. Monkeys can handle that too; with their charm and persuasiveness they can make people believe that just knowing them is a privilege.
Monkey Peering over a Cliff, by Watanabe Nangaku. Edo period, late eighteenth century. Monkeys are highly adaptable and versatile. Enthusiastic about everything, they spend their time broadening their minds and are especially fascinated with art. They like refinement, originality and luxury. Inventive and intelligent, those born in these years can solve most problems quickly and skillfully, and are able to accomplish much in business. Monkeys shamelessly acknowledge their attraction to money. They quickly assimilate facts and figures, picking up new skills and techniques almost instaneously.

Monkeys are hard to characterize as a group because of their great diversity, and because much of the discussion reflects a comparison with the apes. Both monkeys and apes contrast with the prosimian grade in that they are typically large, diurnal animals that live in social groups. Monkeys differ from apes in their possession of a tail, a smaller brain, quadrupedal pronograde posture, and a usually longer face. They are generally smaller than apes, but large monkeys outweigh gibbons. Like almost all primates, monkeys are pentadactyl, with nails rather than claws on the digits in most cases. They have pectoral mammary glands and well-developed vision.
