Modular Homes: Factories
built 656 days ago
That depends on your design and the manufacturer, but some modular homes can be built in the factory in as little as 1-2 weeks. And there's never a weather delay, since modular homes are built indoors. It usually takes another 2-4 weeks to connect the utilities and complete the home.

There are several important considerations to investigate before buying an Alaska modular home. Modular homes are full size homes constructed in large building blocks in factories. When all the blocks for a particular modular house are complete, they are shipped to the permanent home site and assembled. There is no visual difference between a modern modular home and a stick-built home. Many attractive floor plans and styles are available. Before you take the plunge to build a modular home in Alaska, be sure it is right for you.

The modular home sits in the shadow of an old mill. It is the city of Lawrence's first eco-friendly home. It was built in a factory by PowerHouse Enterprises and assembled on the lot in one day. It could be one of the most energy efficient, environmentally friendly homes in the state.....

The location of your modular home manufacturer is another potential problem. Modular homes are traditionally cheaper than ordinary homes because of several factors. The factory can negotiate large discounts on bulk purchases of raw materials. Modular homes are built with very little waste, making them even cheaper. Construction crews are only required on site for a few weeks instead of months. If your manufacturer must ship your modules hundreds or even thousands of miles, you need to consider how much extra cost that will add.
