Rachel Wacholder and Elaine Youngs rallied to defeat Olympic gold medalists Misty May and Kerri Walsh 17-21, 22-20, 15-13 Saturday in the finals of the AVP Nissan Series Cincinnati Open, snapping their 50-match winning streak. May and Walsh had won 10 consecutive tournaments.

Misty May and Kerri Walsh of the USA earned a silver medal at the FIVB Norway Open, after falling to Brazil's Ana Paula Connelly and Sandra Pires Tavares in the championship match. It was the Brazilian's third gold medal of the 2003 Beach Volleyball World Tour season.
