Looks like Mischa Barton's heart isn't the only thing that's broken these days. Following her split from ex-boyfriend Cisco Adler in early February, the former O.C. star claimed her second fender-bender yesterday, bringing her sum total to two accidents in less than three weeks.

Us Weekly reports 'The O.C.' star Mischa Barton was unwilling to share the stage with Jessica Simpson at the VH1 'Divas' concert in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand on April 18th. Barton refused to introduce Simpson, instead wanting to introduce what she probably felt was a more deserving diva. "Mischa was definitely insulted and acted like she was too good for Jessica," a source said. "She wanted to introduce Patti LaBelle or not participate at all." Another source sneered, "It's really ridiculous that Mischa would even think that she's a big enough star to introduce someone like Patti. After all, Jessica and Mischa are technically peers - they have the exact same fan base."

Mischa Barton's about to find out that there is such a thing as bad publicity. Shortly after I posted my story on Friday about Gossip Girl courting Barton for a juicy arc, her reps began issuing blanket denials to various media outlets, insisting that, although their client was indeed approached by the show, she turned the gig down. There's just one problem: She didn't. Turn them down, that is. At least not formally.Reliable sources close to the CW phenom tell me that the recent statements made by Barton's camp took Gossip execs Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz by surprise since, as far as they were concerned, Barton was still in the running to play schemer Georgina Sparks. Mischa Barton has been charged with driving under the influence and possession of marijuana, stemming from her arrest in December, police announced Tuesday. The former star of The O.C. was ... charged with driving without a valid license. Her arraignment on the misdemeanor charges is set for Thursday in Beverly Hills Superior Court.
