The Minnesota Vikings are a professional National Football League (NFL) team based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They belong to the North Division of the National Football Conference (NFC). They currently play their home games in the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in downtown Minneapolis. Originally, the ownership group was to have a team in the American Football League, but withdrew from the AFL and agreed to join the NFL as a 1961 expansion team. The Minnesota Vikings were the 14th franchise and began play on September 17, 1961.

Although the Minnesota Vikings had a very good draft, don’t expect much from them in the 2007-08 season. They didn’t do much in the off season with the exception of losing Defensive Coordinator Mike Tomlin to the Steelers. Tavaris Jackson is the expected starting quarterback ... he only has two NFL starts under his belt. He’s still learning the nuances of the NFL, so there will be a lot of pressure on Minnesota’s running game. Chester Taylor rushed for over 1200 yards last season, and top draft pick Adrian Peterson was a stud at Oklahoma. With those two rushing behind two of the best guards in Steve Hutchinson and Bryant McKinnie, their rushing attack has the potential to be one of the best in the league.

The Associated Press reports Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson has been named the Most Valuable Player of the Pro Bowl. He rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries during the game.
