Milla Natasha Jovovich was born December 17, 1975, the daughter of Bogich Jovovich, a Yugoslavian doctor, and Golina Loganiva, a Soviet actress. Born in Kiev, Ukraine in what was then known as the USSR, she and her family left their financially-stable life to head to the US when she was just five years old.

In 1981, when Jovovich was five years old, her family left the Soviet Union for political reasons[9] and moved to London. They subsequently lived in Sacramento, California before settling in Los Angeles, California seven months later; Jovovich's parents divorced soon after.

Milla was born in the Soviet Union, once called the USSR, now called Russia. With her mother (Galina Loginova) a prominent actress, and her father, whose occupation is still a closely guarded secret, Milla moved to the US of A in 1980 and from a very young age she was enrolled in acting school.
