Jovovich-Hawk was established by Milla Jovovich and Carmen Hawk in LA in 2003. Milla Jovovich and Carmen Hawk design clothes that encompass the belief of 'feel good, look great, feel bad, look great'. Friends for over 10 years, they share the view that clothes have to be wearable, comfortable and need not make a spectacle of the wearer. Jovovich Hawk makes clothes that are relevant to the lives of independent, hard working, creative funny, elegant and romantic women. The atelier is based in LA. Within three seasons Jovovich Hawk has built a considerable following among fashion editors and actresses with the label now stocked in the US, Europe and Asia.
In April 2006, Jovovich and Hawk launched the Jovovich-Hawk clothing range at Harvey Nichols in London. In November 2006, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and US Vogue nominated Jovovich-Hawk as for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award, an award founded in 2003, and underwritten by Vogue, Barneys New York, Coach, Juicy Couture, Kellwood Co., Nordstrom and Theory, with additional support from Gucci. The winner receives $200,000 as well as a year of industry guidance and support. Jovovich-Hawk was nominated as a finalist, although Doo-Ri Chung took the top prize.[63]
Jovovich, and fellow model Carmen Hawk launched a fashion line called Jovovich-Hawk. The line is sold in Fred Segal and Harvey Nichols as well as over fifty stores around the world. The line was a great success and the pair has opened a showroom in New York City's Greenwich Village.
The exclusive Jovovich-Hawk for Target collection of women's fashion and accessories is part of the GO International® initiative at Target. GO International, which provides affordable luxury from world-renowned designers, will feature the Jovovich-Hawk for Target collection in select Target stores nationwide and online at Target.com from March 2, 2008, through mid-April.
