Military of the United States: Latin America

The social structure of the United States has a big range, meaning some Americans are much, much richer than others. Still, most Americans are much richer than the majority of the world. For example, 51% of all households have access to a computer and 41% had access to the Internet in 2000, a figure which had grown to 75% in 2004. Globally, less than one percent of people own a computer. Furthermore, 67.9% of Americans owned their homes in 2002. The average income for an American was $37,000 a year in 2002.
The Bald Eagle appears on the Great Seal of the United States. Protection of this once endangered species has helped save it from extinction. Common names and abbreviations of the United States of America include the United States, the U.S., the U.S.A., the USA, the U.S. of A., the States (informal), and America. The earliest known use of the name America is attributed to the German cartographer Martin Waldseemüller who, while working in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges in 1507, created a globe and a large map showing North and South America.[6] Although the origin of the name is uncertain,[7] the most widely held belief is that expressed in an accompanying book[citation needed], Cosmographiae Introductio, which explains it as the feminine version of the Latin name of Italian explorer Amerigo Vespucci (Americus Vespucius); in Latin, the other continents' names were all feminine. Vespucci theorized, correctly, that Christopher Columbus, on reaching islands in the Caribbean Sea in 1492, had come not to India but to a "New World".
The social structure of the United States, a capitalist country, is highly stratified, with a large proportion of the wealth of the country controlled by a small fraction of the population which exerts disproportionate cultural and political influence. However, in terms of relative wealth, most Americans enjoy a standard of personal economic wealth that is far greater than that known in the majority of the world. For example, 51% of all households have access to a computer and 41% had access to the Internet in 2000. Furthermore, 67.9% of US households owned their dwellings in 2002.
Most of the United States of America is in the middle of the continent of North America. It has borders with Canada to the north र Mexico to the south, र it touches the Atlantic Ocean र Pacific Ocean. This part is made up of 48 states, र is often called the "contiguous states" (states that border each other) or the "lower 48".
[T]he most important reason for the 1999 U.S./NATO terror campaign was that it was an essential part of the American Empire's long-term strategy for maintaining total military and economic domination of Europe. The governments of Western Europe had been venal whores in America's harem since 1945. Russia was on its knees economically, and most Eastern European governments were clamoring to join the U.S./NATO harem. Only the Yugoslavian government led by Milosevic refused to be abject whores.

In A PEOPLE'S HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES, Howard Zinn presents an intriguing look at American history through the eyes of those who would be considered disaffected members of the population. Native Americans, African Americans, Unions, Immigrants, etc are presented in a manner that drives home many of the struggles that these people faced as well as providing aspects of history that have been forgotten about or pushed the rug because the image of American History would be much less than flattering if the complete story was told. The problem with Zinn... centers around the fact that Zinn uses his tome to push forward a Marxist ideological response to the United State's perceived inequalities. That is to say, Marxism provides all the solutions to the ills that the United States has caused. You would think that a student of history such as Mr. Zinn would have noted the brutality of the Soviet regime in comparison. Then again, the book is not a history of the Soviet Union so Mr. Zinn gets a mild pass in that regard.
