Through the '80s, Reid penned 11 number one hits. In 1990, he began his recording career, signing to Columbia and releasing Turning for Home, which contained the number one hit "Walk on Faith." Reid appeared on the charts three more times in 1991 with songs such as "As Simple as That." Mike Reid Originally a middle guard and linebacker at Penn State, Reid suffered a knee injury during spring practice in 1967 and missed the entire season. When he returned in 1968, he was moved to defensive tackle and became an immediate standout. A consensus All-American in 1969, Reid won the Outland Trophy as the nation's outstanding college lineman. During his two years as a starter, the team was undefeated.
Reid was named All-America in 1969 while playing at Penn State under coach Joe Paterno. In 1969, he won the Outland Trophy for being the best interior lineman in college football and the Maxwell Award for being the top college football player. In his senior year (1969), the tackle spearheaded Penn State on defense with 89 tackles and was a unanimous All-America choice and All-East selection.
