The term Middle East defines a general geographic area that does not have precise borders. For purposes of the Area Studies department of Columbia University Libraries, the term broadly refers to the area extending from the southern shores of the Mediterranean Sea to the Persian Gulf. It is taken to include Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Israel, the occupied territories of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Turkey, Azerbayjan, Armenia, Iran, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.

This definition — as of early 2007 — includes Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Palestinian territories, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syrian Arab Republic, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.[10] This definition is used in world-wide airfare and tax calculations for passengers and cargo.
WASHINGTON, Dec. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Saudi Ambassador to the United States Prince Turki Al-Faisal today received a reproduction of the Franklin Film Archive of the Middle East, the preeminent assemblage of Middle East film footage in the world. In a ceremony at the Saudi Embassy, Prince Turki accepted the tapes from Ms. Jo Franklin on behalf of the archives of the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, of which he is a board member.
The product is being distributed by Middle East dairy product giant SADAFCO through Bravo's exclusive international agent, AsheTrade which is headquartered in Miami, FL and has an office in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This initial order is part of a two-year agreement with SADAFCO.
