Sir Michael Philip "Mick" Jagger, KBE (born July 26, 1943) is an English rock musician, actor, songwriter, record and film producer, and businessman. He is best known as the lead singer of the rock 'n' roll band The Rolling Stones. Early life Jagger was born into a middle-class family at Livingstone Hospital, East Hill, Dartford, Kent, England. His father, Basil "Joe" Jagger (6 April, 1913 – 11 November, 2006), and his paternal grandfather were both teachers; his mother, Eva (13 April, 1913 – 18 May, 2000), an Australian immigrant to England, was an active member of the Conservative Party.

Like Mick Jagger, who has just become Sir Michael, Hugh Hefner is a famous bad boy who has gradually evolved into one of the great and good. The 77-year-old, who launched Playboy magazine 50 years ago this month, has a road named after him in his hometown of Chicago, features in advertisements for such mainstream fare as burgers, gin and casual clothes (and we don't mean silk pyjamas and velvet smoking jackets).
