Perhaps the greatest measure of Michaels’ legacy is his uncanny ability to perform his best on the biggest stages. He has won the Royal Rumble Match twice and has headlined WrestleMania more times than the Immortal Hulk Hogan. HBK didn’t compete in the first Ladder Match, but he put them on the map with his WrestleMania X war against Razor Ramon over the Intercontinental Championship. He didn’t win the match, butat the end of the night, no one was talking about the loss. They were talking about Michaels and the amazing risks he took during the bout.

Michaels’s main research and teaching interest is in combining comparative law, conflict of laws, and legal theory under the guise of globalization into a theory of global legal pluralism. Currently, he is working on a book that will lay down a general theory of jurisdiction for an age of globalization. At Duke, he teaches conflict of laws, comparative law, and various seminars on law and globalization.

Michaels had a short but notorious relationship with Pamela Anderson. An explicit sex tape the couple made appeared on the Internet [1] and it was released as a DVD on September 7, 2005 by Metro Studios. Michaels later stopped the sexually explicit tape from continued distribution, though it is still widely available on the internet.

IRVING, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 05/31/07 -- Michaels Stores, Inc. today reported unaudited financial results for the first quarter of fiscal 2007 ended May 5, 2007. Total sales for the first quarter were $844 million, a 1.4% increase over fiscal 2006 first quarter sales of $832 million. Same-store sales for the comparable 13-week period decreased 0.5% on a 3.5% increase in average ticket, a 4.2% decrease in transactions, and a 0.2% increase in custom framing deliveries.

Michaels along with broadcasting partner, Ken Dryden, recreated their Olympic commentary in the 2004 movie Miracle. Although Michaels and Dryden recreated the bulk of their commentary for the film, the closing seconds of the game against the Soviet Union used the actual original ABC Sports commentary from 1980. Gavin O'Connor, the director of Miracle, decided to use the last 10 seconds of Michaels' original "Do you believe in miracles?" call in the film because he felt he couldn't ask him to recreate the emotion he experienced at that moment. Thus they cleaned up the recording to make the transition to the authentic call as seamless as possible.

Michaels formed the band Paris in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 1984. The band, which later became Poison, moved to Los Angeles in 1984 to begin touring the clubs there. Poison became famous recording several albums and touring around the world.
