Michael Moore: United States
built 643 days ago
Michael Moore, ranting According to Reuters in June 2007, Moore is reported to have hidden assets in Canada in reaction to an official investigation. Moore was operating offshore in Cuba allegedly as a "journalistic endeavor." The United States Treasury Department does not confirm or deny the existence of investigations. [12]
Moore and Kramer analyze four main conflicts between humanistic psychology and prominent religious precepts found in Jewish, Christian, and Islamic prayers. These conflicts concern locus of control, self-esteem, social values, and the status of the family. The authors conclude that the messages promoted by various prayers are diametrically opposed to the goals of humanistic psychology and progressive education.

Michael was born in Blackwell, Okla., but raised in Decatur, GA. He joined the Atlanta Symphony in 1968, and at the age of 18 was the youngest tubist in any major symphony. He received a B. Mus. Lit. with a minor in composition from Ga. State U., where he now serves on the faculty.
Instead, Moore focuses on life expectancy, suggesting that people in Canada, Britain, France and even Cuba live longer than Americans because of their health care systems. But most experts agree that life expectancies are a poor measure of health care, because they are affected by too many exogenous factors like violent crime, poverty, obesity, tobacco and drug use, and other issues unrelated to a country’s health system. When you compare the outcome for specific diseases such as cancer or heart disease, the United States clearly outperforms the rest of the world.

After four months at Mother Jones, Moore was fired for refusing to print an article by Paul Berman that was critical of the Sandinista's human rights record in Nicaragua. Moore stated that he would not run the article because Ronald Reagan “could easily hold it up, saying, 'See, even Mother Jones agrees with me.” [13] Berman described Moore as a "very ideological guy and not a very well-educated guy" when asked about the incident.[14] Moore sued for wrongful dismissal, and settled out of court for $58,000, providing him with seed money for his first film, Roger & Me.[15]
In 1995 Moore released Canadian Bacon, his only non-documentary production (aside from his music videos for groups such as Rage Against the Machine and R.E.M.). Its fictional plot centers on a President of the United States who boosts his popularity by engineering a war with Canada.
