Michael Jordan: Basketball
built 658 days ago
As a child, Michael Jordan always wanted to play with the "big boys", he was always striving to be better. Jordan's parents, unlike Tiger Woods' father, never pushed him to be a great basketball player, they pushed him to be a good person and believe in where he came from and who he was. "Rather than trying to create a superstar, Mrs. Jordan and her husband wanted to rear children with strong moral character, confidence, high self-esteem, and who would feel that they could accomplish whatever goals they set. ' To give those values to your children doesn't cost you a dime,' she says'. ' Those are the characteristics and gifts that money cannot buy.'" ( Ebony, May1997)
michael-jordan-rounded.jpg (12876 bytes) Michael Jordan single-handedly redefined basketball. No player in it’s history has achieved so much in ANY amount of time. He introduced a style of playing basketball that other players simply could not comprehend, much less deliver.

Michael Jordan's jersey in the rafters of The Dean Smith Center. Michael Jeffrey Jordan (born February 17, 1963) is a retired American professional basketball player and active businessman. Proclaimed by the National Basketball Association (NBA) as the "greatest player of all time",[1] Jordan was one of the most effectively marketed athletes of his generation, and was instrumental in popularizing the NBA around the world in the 1980s and 1990s.
To say that acting is not what "Michael Jordan" is primarily known for is a very large understatement. "Jordan" was not only the driving force behind a Chicago Bulls basketball team that won six NBA championships throughout the 1990s, but for a whole new generation of professional athletes. "Jordan" became an institution, with commercial endorsements running from Nike shoes, to Gatorade sports drinks, to Hanes underwear. By the time he retired (for the second time) in 1998 from professional basketball, "Jordan" was worth millions not only because of his wizardry on the basketball court, but ... because of his shrewd business savvy. Well before his retirement(s), however, he had dabbled with acting.
The design team at Jordan Brand outlined Anthony's goals for the 2007-2008 season in four separate parts: the first and second halves of the NBA season, the NBA Playoffs and the 2008 Summer Olympics. In order to sustain speed, quickness and strength to operate at an All-Star level over the extended basketball season, Jordan Brand designed the Jordan Melo M4 to meet Melo's needs while still being stylish both on and off the court. And to help withstand his heavy workload, the Jordan Melo M4 possesses improved technology, reduced weight, increased ankle support and a unique compression sock which acts as another layer of support for the long basketball season.

[T]his would not be the end of Michael Jordan's run in the NBA, and as of June 2006, Jordan has returned to the league in the form of part-owner of the Charlotte Bobcats. He has the final say in all basketball related decisions. Whether or not he has learned from his mistakes in Washington is yet to be seen, but none can doubt his desire to win.
