Michael Jeter (1952 - 2003) was a multi-talented Emmy and Tony Award winning character actor of stage and screen. He played Mr. Noodle's brother Mr. Noodle in the Elmo's World segments of Sesame Street, beginning in 1999.

Michael Jeter, a Tony- and Emmy-winning actor who appeared in dozens of movies and TV shows, has died at the age of 50, his publicist said on Monday. Jeter's body was found by his life partner, Sean Blue, on Sunday at his Hollywood Hills home, the Los Angeles Times reported. Jeter was HIV-positive

At the 1990 Tony Awards ceremony at the Lunt-Fontanne Theater, Jeter stopped the show with his Charleston number from Grand Hotel, a piece that was not even in the original play. Jeter praised Tune, the choreographer as well as director, for creating a number suited to him even though he was not trained in dance. "I think that's one of Mr. Tune's little bits of specific brilliance," said Jeter. "That he can look at the way your body moves, and he can find the medium, in dance, within which to move it."
