Michael Jackson's beer glassware (from left to right): Summer Glass, Tasting Glass, Snifter, Session Glass Michael Jackson was ... an important reviewer of whiskies. In his book The Malt Whisky Companion, he reviewed a large number of whiskies and them gave marks from 0—100, only those with a score above seventy-five were worth purchasing according to him. In many ways, his work in the world of whisky exceeded his significance as a beer writer. He was arguably the most important writer on whisky since the Victorian commentator Alfred Barnard and certainly the most significant and influential modern whisky writer. This was recognised by the prestigious award of "Master of the Quaich" and the prodigious sale of his whisky books and sell-out attendances at his tastings. He had enormous influence on the development of single malt whisky globally.
Michael Jackson wins MTV's Artist of the Millennium award at the 2002 Video Music Awards. The only problem being, the award does not actually exist. His acceptance speech: "When I was a little boy in Indiana, if someone had told me that one day I'd be getting the Artist of the Millennium Award, I wouldn't have believed it." In reality, Britney Spears called Michael the "artist of the millennium" and handed the artist some kind of award-looking plaque thing. The confused Jackson put two and two together.

In 1986, Jackson began dating her sister La Toya's former back-up dancer Rene Elizondo, Jr. The couple later secretly married in 1991 and spent well over eight years married until Jackson filed for divorce in 1999. In 2000, Elizondo confirmed rumors that the couple were married. This would be the second time Jackson would hide a marriage from the public. Elizondo later sued Jackson for compensation for material he claims he had written for Jackson throughout her career. In 2003, the courts awarded him a multi-million dollar settlement, although it was about half the $25 million he was seeking, and the divorce was finalized.
*NSYNC will not be performing at the all-star salute to the 'King Of Pop,' MICHAEL JACKSON: 30TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION, THE SOLO YEARS, on the Friday, September 7, 2001 concert at Madison Square Garden," announced producer David Gest (pronounced guest). According to Gest, "Due to scheduling conflicts, Michael Jackson and *NSYNC will not have time to rehearse the "Dancing Machine" number with the Jacksons in the way Michael planned to present it. Unfortunately, *NSYNC will be rehearsing their MTV Video Music Awards performance on Wednesday and Thursday while Michael will be rehearsing for his shows at the Garden. The two schedules just conflict and *NSYNC will not be in New York prior to that. Michael looks forward to working with *NSYNC in the future as he is a very big fan of the group."
Child sexual abuse... is so fraught with public revulsion, that even many blacks that publicly are more than willing to give Jackson the benefit of the doubt, privately blast him for his seemingly unnatural fascination with boys. And mainstream black leaders have steered a wide berth around him. Leading members of the Congressional Black Caucus, for instance, openly snubbed Jackson during his whirlwind schmoozing political fend mending jaunt to the Capitol earlier this year. Earlier this month, a group of African diplomats in Washington D.C. vigorously protested the awarding of a humanitarian award to Jackson for his financial contributions to the AIDS fight in Africa.
