Miami Ink is a reality TV show, on the Learning Channel (LTC), filmed on location at South Beach, Miami. It takes you behind the scenes so you can see and experience the real emotion of getting a tattoo and what they mean to the people getting inked. The show exposes tats for what they really are - a means of self expression that have deep significant meanings for the people getting them. Based on the diverse range of people getting inked, it becomes very obvious that it is popular in all corners of society. While some of the clients are experienced and have already got a number of designs, we ... get to watch people getting their first body art, and the process they go through as they try to develop an idea into a design.

Miami Ink star Ami James is a tough-looking guy, but he's all heart when it comes to protecting animals. The tat artist has teamed up with PETA to appear in the latest ad for their campaign "Ink Not Mink." James will be unveiling the ad Thursday at his South Beach club, the Love Hate Lounge and going fur-free at the venue. In an Ali G-esque statement, he explains: "If we wouldn't be wearing mink, nobody would be killing [them]." Other celeb INMers, meanwhile, have included Dennis Rodman and Tommy Lee. As in the TV show Miami Ink personalities dictate the look and feel of the art being applied. A rough night out may mean a different result the next day. The cast of Miami Ink certainly shows this aspect as the ink sometime flies. This is to be expected as the search for that “higher meaning” may take many forms and hopefully in a positive form on a persons body.
Miami Ink is currently shown in the UK on Discovery Real Time channel twice a day. In Asia, Australia and New Zealand Miami Ink airs on Discovery Travel and Living. It ... airs in Norway, Sweden, on TV6 and Discovery Channel, Denmark on Discovery Channel, in Latin America, Spain and Portugal on People & Arts, in Germany on DMAX and in Finland on Discovery Finland. In France, it airs on Discovery Real Time on Sunday prime Time (8.45pm).
