built 231 days ago
Miami Ink, acclaimed reality show about a tattoo parlor is back with new episodes June 12 at 10 pm Eastern (9 pm Central). See dramatic parting words between boss Ami James to artist Kat von D. Watch this season to see how things change at the now all male shop! It’ll be another great season of friction and drama in the workplace, with customers who let viewers not only watch them get new tats but ... hear the moving personal stories behind what they get inked and why.

When Miami Ink debuted in July 2005, viewers often saw the two longtime friends wearing T-shirts with a Deville logo on them. That halted once producers discovered that James and Nunez ... sell the shirts.
Ami James and the Miami Ink crew are not guilty…of anything to do with this release anyway. But TLC has been charged with skimping on the extras, when they're clearly out there.

Miami Ink is a rare show that challenges cultural stereotypes of tattoos and shows how talented the tattoo artists really are. Shot in a documentary/"reality" fashion with shop owner Ami James' narration, the show follows both patrons (who explain the deeper meaning behind their requested tattoo)and the artists who apply their exceptional talent on the skin of their clients. Unlike other tattoo shows (Inked), Miami Ink concentrates more on the tattoo as art rather than the artists interaction with one another.

Nearing the end of its fifth season and with plans for a sixth, Miami Ink is closing in on 70 episodes and shows no signs of slowing down. Each show's composition is much the same…viewer's receive an inside look at the inner workings of a professional tattoo shop, including the ongoing drama and personality issues among the staff, and the personal and often touching stories of the clients who come to Ami James and his crew.

The first tattoo he inked at Miami Ink, which didn’t appear on the show, was a cherry blossom. Miami Ink co-owner and manager Ami James drew the flower on Harada’s leg and Harada inked it on himself. Harada regularly tattoos customers when the show is not taping, but he is still considered a rookie in the all-male, five-member cast.
