Metroid: Super Metroid
built 178 days ago
The original Metroid was an NES favorite, and Super Metroid is considered by many to be the best game ever made for the Super Nintendo. Both supply top-notch platform shooting in creepy, isolated deep space environments.
The original "Metroid Prime" is one of the highest-rated games in existence, but Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is easily superior. It’s far less frustrating, and more action packed, while managing to redefine console shooting controls in the process.

Metroid Prime’s Super NES predecessor, Super Metroid, featured one of the best if not the best soundtracks in videogame history. With that in mind Metroid Prime takes all the tunes you knew and loved from previous Metroid games, such as Super Metroid, and makes them more intense and electrifying than ever! Of course there are plenty of new tunes, most of which feature great techno beats and others remixed classic Metroid tunes. These tunes are so memorable that the next morning you’ll be whistling them on the way to the bathroom, especially the remixed tunes from previous Metroid games such as the theme found in Magmoor Caverns. Surprisingly, all of Metroid Prime’s soundtracks are MIDI, the reason this was done so that the beats and rhythms of tunes would speed up and become more intense when Samus is in trouble. All other sound effects are equally amazing, such as the electrical screech that Samus’s armor emits when falling into a lava pit.

Metroid Prime is an action-packed adventure set in the first-person perspective that takes place just after the events in the original Metroid (NES). It has lead character Samus Aran, a bounty hunter by trade, chasing down the evil Space Pirates. Their intention is to use a genetic mutagen called Phazon to create a super army and take over the universe. While the installments in the series before have never been home to deeply involving storylines, Metroid Prime breaks the shell to offer up one of the most intriguing and read-worthy sagas yet. Developed by Texas-based Retro Studios. Metroid Prime brings all of the elements of the acclaimed franchise into a gaping 3D arena.

Shoot down an alien and the X parasite within will float around, now's your chance to grab it, because thanks to the Metroid vaccination, you are now able to absorb the remaining parasites. Yellow cells top up your health, whilst the green ones will increase your missiles. Should you leave these free roaming forms for too long ... they will eventually revert back to their original state, so take careÂ… Special mention needs to go to a carbon copy of yourself, who crops up at regular parts of the game. Equipped with a fully functioning suit and carrying more weaponry than a small country, your only option is to flee. These sections are superb, as they are totally unexpected and will scare the life out of you as you desperately try and find a way to defeat your powerful doppleganger nemesis.

Boxart for Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is, for the most part, Nintendo's first established franchise to really utilize the Wii's motion-sensing strengths. With the exception of WarioWare Smooth moves, Nintendo's franchises on the Wii have consisted of repurposed GameCube games (Twilight Princess and Super Paper Mario) or titles with traditional control schemes that make little to no use of the Wii's features (Mario Party 8, Mario Strikers Charged and Pokemon). Playing through Corruption, you get the sense that this game was developed with the Wii in mind, a feeling that precious few titles have ... far evoked.
