Melanoma: Melanomas
built 643 days ago
Melanoma can spread locally and involve nearby tissues, such as the local lymph glands or liver, bones, brain or lungs. Another organ where melanoma tends to spread to are the Adrenal glands, which are the glands located above the kidneys and which produce special hormones. Cancer can ... spread to the area near spinal cord and vertebrae.

Title - Melanoma The possibility of melanoma should be considered in the differential diagnosis of virtually any poorly differentiated neoplasm. Tumor heterogeneity is exquisitely exhibited by melanomas. The heterogeneity of melanoma is manifested by multiple histologic patterns on light microscopic examination, variability of antigenic expression, and rather board ultrastructural morphologic spectrum. Surgical pathologists should be fully aware of the immunomorphologic variations that can be found in melanoma in order to accurately identify these tumors and not confuse them with many other neoplasms that they mimic closely. The evaluation of melanoma cases must be viewed in at least five different clinico-pathologic contexts.
Melanoma can come back after treatment. Learn to do a skin self-exam and to check for swelling in your lymph nodes, and report any changes to your health professional.11 It's a good idea to get in the habit of doing this skin and lymph-node check at the same time every month.
