Fans of Mega Man side scrollers, rejoice--Mega Man Zero has finally come to the GBA. It may be the best Mega Man game designed on any platform, even though it doesn't exactly star Mega Man himself.

Rockman Zero 4 isn't going to score huge on the originality scale or alter anyone's mind about the state of Mega Man games. Yet, it's probably the best portable action oriented Mega Man title to date. [JPN Import]

The ZX series storyline plays directly off of the Zero GBA series, and even goes a bit farther back into the Mega Man timeline. Without a doubt, the ZX series pays tribute to the older characters while still building upon the story set up throughout Zero. There is so much going on here that it will simply confuse someone that is just picking up the series at this point. That’s the good thing about Mega Man games though. You may not know your motivation for your actions in ZX Advent, ZX, or Zero…but you know what you have to do. There are always a collection of evil robots that you will have to destroy.

If you’ve ever played a Mega Man game before, and enjoyed your experience, there’s nothing to not like about this game. It is a good, solid adventure with some intense action and enough of a challenge to keep you busy for a while.

The marketing for this game claims this is the “most challenging Mega Man game to date.” While it doesn’t quite win that mantle, it sure tries its best. Anyone looking for a nice relaxing game should stay far away from this one.
