Mega Man Zero: Levels
built 628 days ago
Mega Man Zero 3 takes a more lenient approach by distinguishing between "satellite" and "fusion" cyber elves. Fusion cyber elves still disappear when used and still count against your overall letter grade, whereas satellite cyber elves can be equipped and swapped out during a level, and they don't disappear or count against you in your evaluation. Zero can have up to two satellite-type cyber elves equipped at any given time. Due to this one "little" change, Mega Man Zero 3 comes across as more open-ended and flexible than either of the two previous Zero games.

The fourth installment of the Mega Man Zero series introduces gameplay changes, but doesn't deviate platforming of its predecessors. Players guide Zero through eight main selectable stages and usually a mini-boss to separate it into two parts. At the end of each level, the player faces one of the game's robot antagonists.

To keep the game interesting and delineate it from other Mega Man titles there is a weather system implemented. Levels can be sunny, cloudy, rainy or snow filled. The weather conditions can have a significant impact on some areas. If there is large set of spikes to clear, take on that level when it's snowing so the snow covers the spikes. A rainy day may lead to slippery platforms, which could spell bottomless pit disasters. The weather system is a good idea to increase replay value and when used correctly you can find hidden secrets.

Triple Rod: A spear Zero uses in Mega Man Zero that can be used in any of the 8 directions. When boosted to the maximum skill level, Zero can use it to stab someone once, twice, or a maximum of three times, expanding each stab. When charged, Zero will stand and spin the rod over his head. When charged in the air, he will spin the rod in front of him.

Mega Man Zero is mission-based. Before each level Zero can roam around the reploid base to talk to others or find the occasional power up. Here you can download cyber-elf programs (more below) and save your game.

MMZ3, like most side-scrolling Mega Man games, allows the player to choose which level they want to play. The player’s freedom is one of the creations of the Mega Man series. One of the most important things you should know is that this game, like most other Mega Man games, are pretty hard. Hell, you’d have to be foolish to expect a Mega Man game would be child-level easy. So, if you are a parent reading this review, simply don’t buy this game. Your child will never beat this game until he gets older.
