Mega_Man_7_Coverart.jpg Once all of the Robot Masters have been defeated, Mega Man returns to the lab and finds it half-totaled. Dr. Light is fortunately unharmed, but he tells Mega Man that Bass was the culprit. Bass and Treble had apparently been one of Dr. Wily's creations all along (Dr. Wily ... seems to have caught on to Dr. Light's love of musical names). Bass had ransacked the lab, taking a copy of the blueprints for Dr. Light's new upgrade, the Super Adapter, which is a combination of the Rush Jet Suit and Rush Power Suit from Mega Man 6 (Mega Man can get his own Super Adapter by collecting the R, U, S & H panels that are scattered throughout the first four levels.) Wily then comes on the damaged lab screen and taunts Mega Man.

Mega Man can withstand powerful plasma blasts, rocket-powered drills, and the bitter disappointment of his creator, but he cannot survive any encounter with spikes. It has been recorded that robots hate spikes. Should Mega Man even touch the non-pointy side of a spike, it results in his immediate dispatch. For this reason, Dr. Wily places a great deal of spikes around the areas that he expects Mega Man to travel, in the hopes that Mega Man might accidentally jump into one, or perhaps even fall on one. As of yet, it has been undetermined why Dr. Wily doesn't just put spikes everywhere, but instead leaves convenient spike-free areas for Mega Man to traverse. The best explanation so far is Alcohol.
After failing this way several times, he built a new robot based on Mega Man: Bass . As powerful as Mega Man, he confronted the blue bomber several times, only to lose each time. Bass was rebellious and brutal, and even fought against Wily some times.
