Mega Man Legends / Mega Man 64 is about as close as it gets. Mega Man X Command Mission is a RPG and some of the later MMX games have 3D segments, but they've never done true original Mega Man in 3D.

Mega Man 64's somewhat interesting, if goofy, story line mitigates the game's lackluster look, but it won't satisfy gamers who are looking for deep plots or engaging characters. No, it's not the same Mega Man that many gamers know and love; but, for video game newbies and casual game fans, that's not such a bad thing. --Mark Brooks

Mega Man 64, known in Japan as Rockman Dash: Hagane no Boukenshin, was originally released for the American Nintendo 64 in January of 2001. As the game was just a reworked version of the 1998 PlayStation Mega Man Legends, it didn't fare to well amongst the outspoken editors at IGN64 who slapped it with a 4.5.

The set up to Mega Man 8 is all too familiar. Dr. Wily is back with a whole slew of new robot baddies, each with unique special powers. One by one, Mega Man must get through the various levels, make it to the boss baddie, defeat him and steal his power. The new ability that Mega Man acquires will no doubt come in handy in another level down the road, so finding the right order to pick up the power ups is essential.
