In 1987 Ryan starred in the movie Innerspace with Martin Short and Dennis Quaid. The following year she starred with in the murder mystery D.O.A. again with Quaid. The two began a relationship and married in 1991 after Ryan convinced him to give up drugs and alcohol. In April of 1992 their only child, Jack Henry, was born.

MEG Ryan (above) has made it official: Dennis Quaid cheated on her during their nine-year marriage. The collagen-lipped actress - who made headlines when she took up with Russell Crowe after her union to Quaid crumbled in 2000 - was unequivocal when an Allure writer asked her flat-out if Quaid had strayed. "Yes, yes, yes, she mouths silently," Allure reports in its May issue out Tuesday.

After appearing in Amityville 3-D (1983), Ryan secured more auspicious work when she was cast as the wife of doomed flyboy Goose (Anthony Edwards) in Top Gun (1986). Although her role was minor, the film's success paved the way for more work for the actress, and the following year she starred in Innerspace, a comedy that cast her as Dennis Quaid's girlfriend. Her onscreen status as Quaid's love interest soon became off-screen reality, and after starring together in D.O.A. (1988), the two married in 1991.

They divorced on July 16, 2001 after she had an indiscreet affair with actor Russell Crowe, with whom she was working on a movie.
