When it comes to luxury and exclusivity, the 2008 Maybach 62 is in a league of its own. This hand-built, fully-customizable four door ultra Luxury Sedan offers seating capacity for up to five passengers in its roomy interior. It comes equipped with a sizeable 543 horsepower 5.5-liter gas-powered V12 that generates 664 lbs-ft. of torque mated to a 5-speed overdrive-enabled automatic transmission under the hood. 2008 Maybach 62 The 2008 Maybach 62 is a four-door sedan. The 62 has two available engines. The base 5.5-liter V12 engine makes 550 horspower and 664 pound-feet of torque. The more powerful 62 S has a 6.0-liter V12 engine that makes 612 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard. The Maybach 62 has seating for five and is hand-built and highly customizable.

Some of these optional extras include a panoramic glass sun roof at a cost of $11,670 and an external communication system, which includes a loudspeaker and microphone system which allows the occupant in the rear of the Maybach to talk and listen to the people outside the car. This option comes at a cost of $1,780. A further option for the Maybach is a retractable electrotransparent partition screen between the driver and the rear occupants, at $23,780. The most expensive option for the Maybach is a high protection GUARD B4 Package which costs $151,810.

Unique to the Maybach 62 and Maybach 62 S models, the elegant individual rear seats allow even tall passengers to enjoy a comfortable reclining position which travellers would normally expect to find only in the first-class sections of modern passenger jets. All the rear passenger has to do is call up a pre-programmed reclining position at the touch of a button and the backrest slowly tilts backwards by up to 47 degrees. At the same time, a lower leg support and a footrest fold out to the front. This means that rear passengers can enjoy the journey in an extremely relaxing reclined position.
