Maybach: Maybach Brand
built 817 days ago
Stuttgart, Aug 26, 2005 -- The high-end car manufacturer Maybach is Germany’s luxury brand No. 1. Having scored a total of 247 points out of a maximum of 300, Maybach clearly takes the lead over other luxury brands belonging to the automotive, furniture and kitchens, watches, fashion, chinaware or leather goods industries. This is the result of the first ranking of its kind that was commissioned by ‘Wirtschaftswoche’, a business weekly, and conducted by ‘Brand Rating’, an agency based in Munich. Market researchers interviewed 150 experts from the industries analysed in the course of this study and in the process ascertained, among other things, the extraordinary and immaterial additional benefit of a luxury brand (‘brand appeal’) versus other brands. The interviewees said that Maybach is particularly convincing in the fields of ‘perfection’ and ‘aesthetics’.
Maybach 57 S Maybach may not be a common brand in the ultra-luxury field, but that is just the way Mercedes-Benz likes it, as only a relative handful are available each year. The 133.5-inch wheelbase 57 is the driver’s Maybach and for 2007 there is a new S (for Special) model featuring a 6-liter biturbo V-12 producing 612 horsepower. The AMG-sourced power plant combined with a tauter suspension configuration and gives the driver a combination of lavish luxury and dynamic handling that will more than stand up to lesser performance and sports models. A 0-100 km (62 mph) time of 5 seconds is claimed. Features of the 57 S include 20-inch spoked wheels, single tone paint in black or silver, modified rear apron, trapezoidal tailpipes and discreet lettering. Four years ago, the Maybach name was revived by M-B for its most luxurious cars.
The range of models: Two body variants with V12 engine available Maybach customers can choose between two body variants. In the chauffeur-model saloon with its long wheelbase, they can enjoy unequalled quantities of space and matchless comfort. Rear-seat passengers can adjust their individual seats to a comfortable reclining position... ensuring a particularly relaxed ride thanks to automatically extending leg and footrests. A newly developed V12 engine with bi-turbo-charging works away under the luxury car's bonnet, providing superior performance while at the same time meeting the high comfort requirements of the new car brand. Manufacture: Flexible manufacturing of between 1000 and1500 luxury cars a year The Maybach "Manufaktur" will come on-stream in autumn 2002, with the capability to produce up to 1500 Saloons a year in flexible manufacture.
2007 Maybach 57 S With the new model 57 S, Maybach offers a high-end luxury saloon whose performance and dynamic handling need fear no comparison with a sports car. Particularly discerning motoring enthusiasts who wish to drive their Maybach themselves seek a symbiosis of luxurious comfort and sporty handling. The latter is provided by an improved Mercedes-AMG 6.0-liter V12 biturbo engine with 62 bhp more output than the Maybach 57, as well as a tauter suspension configuration. This combination makes the Maybach 57 S high-end luxury saloon the ideal car for owner-drivers who expect the very latest high-performance technology and the perfection typical of the Maybach brand. With an acceleration from standstill to 62 mph in only five seconds, the new Maybach 57 S impressively demonstrates its outstanding performance potential.

With considerable effort from Daimler-Benz, the Maybach brand was resurrected in 2003 with a lineup consisting of a pair of luxury sedan models, the 57 and the similar but longer 62. Today's Maybachs are hand-made in Germany, made to order according to customer requests. As in the past, supremely luxurious interiors and extremely powerful and smooth power plants (in this case twin-turbo V12 engines) are the hallmarks of the marque. A price tag well into six-figure territory means that these are luxury cars solely for those with mountains of money to spend, but the lucky few able to afford this luxury will find themselves cocooned in vehicles that offer the ultimate in automotive extravagance.
The introduction of the 2004 Maybach marks the beginning of a new era of super-luxury sedans. Making its U.S. debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the Maybach 62 blends 21st-century technology and innovation with classic hand craftsmanship and attention to detail in ways not possible in conventional mass production. Maybach, a sister brand to Mercedes-Benz, plays a crucial role in the DaimlerChrysler Group by leading the automotive world in new luxury concepts and benchmarks.
