Max Thieriot: Corbin Bleu
built 216 days ago
The young actors (Kristen Stewart, Corbin Bleu, and Max Thieriot) do a good job showing emotion and interact well with each other. The characters that they play have a little depth to them and come across as real kids. In stark contrast are all of the adults in the movie who are all presented as cardboard cutouts. The mean/evil bank manager, the incompetent and bungling security officers, the all-forgiving mother, and the tragic/heroic father.

Maddy recruits her two best buddies - hacker-videographer Austin (Corbin Bleu) and go-kart mechanic Gus (Max Thieriot) - for a daring, high-tech robbery. Or at least it's supposed to be daring and high-tech. Because the perps are tweeners, the action is sitcom silly: Crash the formal-dress bank inaugural (with infant brother in tow), distract the goof-off guards, guess the access code that Mom programmed into the system and outwit the attack dogs. And because the script was adapted by the guys behind "2 Fast 2 Furious," we get jargon and product placements instead of truly high-tech gadgets (although it's nice to know that the getaway kart is loaded with "100 PSI of pure NOS").

Maddy asks her friends Gus (Max Thieriot), a mechanic at her father's go-cart track and Austin (Corbin Bleu), a computer whiz, to help her steal $250,000 to pay for the surgery. And because the two boys have a crush on the independent miss, they readily agree.
