Matthew Perry is a television star best known as wise-cracking Chandler Bing on the series Friends (1994-2004). Perry spent his younger years with his mother in Canada, where he competed on the junior tennis circuit. As a teenager he moved to Los Angeles (where his father, actor John Bennett Perry, lived and worked) and switched from tennis to acting. In the late 1980s he worked steadily in television and appeared with River Phoenix in the feature film A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon (1988). In 1994 he began as Chandler in Friends, a weekly comedy that became one of the decade's most popular TV shows. The success of the series made stars out of Perry and the rest of the cast, including Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow.

If Matthew Perry’s new show, Studio 60, gets the ax, at least he has a shoulder to cry on. A source tells Us Weekly that Perry, 37, is romancing The Class’ Lizzy Caplan, 24. The pair met two months ago through his former Friends costar Matt LeBlanc.

Now there’s news that Matthew Perry may ... have reconciled with one of his exes, new mom Meg Ryan, right around the same time. The two were first linked this February, and it sounds like they’ve been reacquainted. 38 year-old Matthew and Meg Ryan, 48, had a dinner date at the Chateau Marmont that sounds like it ended with a late night hookup in a romantic hotel suite. Matthew Perry will play a grown-up version of co-star Zac Efron in New Line's teen comedy 17. Director Burr Steers (Igby Goes Down) will helm the project, about a middle-aged father who wakes up to find he's 17 again and enrolls in high school to get closer to his kids. Writer Jason Filardi (Bringing Down the House) penned the script. Production is scheduled to start next month. Efron was tapped to star when the project was set up, and Leslia Mann (Knocked Up, The 40-Year-Old Virgin), who will play Perry's wife, was cast in October. Perry recently finished work on the indie drama The Laws of Motion, which ... stars Ginnifer Goodwin, Hilary Swank, and Ben Foster.

Actor® recipient and current nominee Matthew Perry is making his second appearance as a SAG Awards presenter. Perry’s nomination for Male Actor in a Movie or Miniseries for his role in The Ron Clark Story is his eighth. The Golden Globes® nominated him for this role, as well. Perry received an Actor® in 1996 as a member of the Friends ensemble. He is currently starring in Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Perry plays Hudson in his next film Numb.
