Jeep and Marvel Comics have created a new user-involvement campaign in a nationwide promotion for the 2007 Jeep Patriot. "The Patriot Factor" is an online adventure comic book whose story line will be provided by consumers inviting fans to submit storylines.

Marvel UK Annuals were published every year just before Christmas for the life of the comic. Each annual was made up of a combination of comic strip, text stories and editorial content. Some annuals ... contained crossover stories with the main weekly comic in an attempt to boost sales. Due to falling sales, later annuals mainly contained reprinted stories from the comic. (Reprinted stories are not listed below.) These reprints are still of interest, as they present formerly black-and-white works in full colour.

In the mid-1970s, Marvel was affected by a decline of the newsstand distribution network. Cult hits such as Howard the Duck were the victims of the distribution problems, with some titles reporting low sales when in fact they were being resold at a later date in the first specialty comic-book stores. Just recently Marvel published a paperback collection of the complete series entitled Essential Monster of Frankenstein. Unfortunately the reprints are in black and white only, and real fans will still have to hunt down the original comic books in order to see the story in full color.

In an update to the shipping dates of their January/February titles at their website, Marvel has officially moved the in-store date of Civil War #7 to February 21st, 2007. The new date is a move from the previously announced in-store date of Janaury 31st, 2007.

Amazing Spider-Man #544 will arrive in stores on Sept. 6 from Marvel Comics. The issue is written by J. Michael Straczynski, with art by Joe Quesada and covers by Quesada and Ron Garney.
