In a world where gay professional sports icons are few and far between, Martina Navratilova definitely stands out. But even if the pro playing fields and courts were filled to overflowing with gay players, Navratilova would likely remain head and shoulders above the rest.

In 2000, Navratilova won the National Equality Award from the Human Rights Campaign. Here's an exerpt from her speech, "People often ask me, 'Now that I've come out, what more can I do?' My answer to that would be, 'Encourage others to come out.' and to be active, supportive members of our community, which in turn, helps contribute positive change and ultimately to fair and equal opportunities for us all."

Maybe Martina can win. The odds are very slim, but look at what Pironkova did. Wait no it was Venus. :D But Martina has the ability to defeat Kim. She has the right attitude and she has the talent. All she is missing is power.
