Let's face it: as well known as Martin Lawrence is for his comedy and his comedic roles, he's just as infamous for what has happened to him in the public eye. To his credit, Lawrence has always been an energetic and outspoken personality - be it for his views in his stand-up comedy, some lawsuits and some other crazy incidents which really make you wonder about the guy. Although Martin Lawrence was once engaged to actress Lark Voorhies, he married Patricia Southall, a former Miss Virginia, on January 7, 1995. They have a daughter, Jasmine, but were divorced in 1996. She later married Emmitt Smith. The divorce led to many personal problems in Lawrence's life. In August, 1996, he was arrested at Burbank Airport for carrying a loaded gun in his suitcase. On March 28, 1997, he was again arrested outside a Hollywood nightclub, after a man claimed Lawrence punched him.

EVEN though Martin Lawrence jokes about his prickly past in his stand-up comedy film, "Runteldat," he won't talk about it with reporters. On Wednesday, the funnyman cursed out Fox News Channel's Bill McCuddy and walked off in the middle of an interview. "In the movie, Lawrence does two long set-pieces about his infamous public episodes," McCuddy told Fox News' Roger Friedman. "One was the time when he was waving a gun in traffic, and another time when he wound up in a coma. He says in the movie that he was high many times [during his career]." When McCuddy asked Lawrence about these episodes, the comic freaked and said: "Now that the tape is running, you're asking me these kinds of things?"
