Marlboro Team Penske is a major team competing in the IndyCar Series for single-seater racing cars, with the famous Indianapolis 500 – more popularly known as the Indy 500 – being the feature event on the calendar. One of the events in the Indy Car Series, the Indy Japan 300, takes place in Hino’s home country of Japan.

Thirty-two year Penske Racing veteran Jerry Breon will organize and oversee the project for Marlboro Team Penske. Breon was one of the "over the wall" pit crew members for 18 years changing the right rear tire for five Indy winners. He more recently served as spotter for Gil de Ferran's 2003 Indy 500 victory. Once the Indy garage is complete, Jerry will turn his attention to his next big project -- relocating the most successful American open-wheel racing team to its new facility in Mooresville, NC.

Rookie Ryan Briscoe (Target Pioneer Toyota) captured the pole position and Helio Castroneves (Marlboro Team Penske Toyota) gave Toyota a sweep of the front row in qualifying for Sunday’s Argent Mortgage Indy Grand Prix at Infineon Raceway. Today’s qualifying marked the second consecutive IndyCar Series race that Toyota-powered cars have captured both front-row starting positions.

During this time, he teamed up with the engineer and driver Mark Donohue, and the pair launched Penske Racing, with Team Penske as their new racing team. Within two years Team Penske won the United States Road Racing Championship with Mark Donohue driving a Lola T70 MKIII chassis with Chevrolet power. In 1972 Penske's team appeared in its first NASCAR Winston Cup Series race, and one year later, it won the first Winston Cup race of their second season.

Such a close understanding of what is needed to win led to PTC's appointment as an official Performance Partner of Marlboro Team Penske and the signing of a three-year agreement. PTC already has similar agreements with Team Rahal in the FedEx series and Formula One world champions Ferrari.
