Marion Bartoli wishes she could replay the Wimbledon Finals when she lost to Venus Williams. She said she would changed her strategy. Instead of hitting the ball in the corners, she would have hit the ball down the center of the court, preventing Venus an opportunity to get good angles on passing winners.

Bartoli now took some time out for treatment to a foot complaint. Williams followed this up with treatment to her left thigh. The match continued with Venus’s leg heavily strapped. The injury seemed to trouble her a little. Bartoli played a long game when attempting to hold serve. She was moving Williams all over the court and it seemed that if Bartoli held serve at this stage the injury to Williams would have had some impact on the result.

Bartoli missed a volley on her serve to gift Williams two break points in the sixth game. She saved the first with a walloping forehand and the second with an inch-perfect backhand. Williams earned a third and this time converted it with a backhand winner.
