Mario Paint originally was nothing incredibly special. It was just this fun little thing to mess around with. You could make animations and artwork on the SNES, and for the time that was very nifty. To top it all off, Mario Paint did not just do pictures, you could ... compose music on it. Again, a neat little feature. Not everyone had a PC back then, and even amont those who did, the most people often saw as far as digital paint programs was MS Paint.

Mario Paint is an extremely enjoyable experience. What could be more fun than creating your own animations, artwork and musical scores on your Super Nintendo? The good thing is that the interface is very easy to navigate and to understand. There's nothing really confusing at all about this product and because of that you can just jump right in and go to work! You can ... play around with the simplistic, yet addicting game thrown in for extra measure, Gnat Attack. The idea of this is to get you used to using a mouse (if you're not already) by swatting moving flies.

Mario Paint ... had an infamous minigame, the fly-swatting game. The player controlled a hand with a fly swatter, and had to swat down various types of flies as levels progressed. Later enemies included flying bombs and wasps with homing missiles, and every several levels a giant boss fly would appear. A high-ramping difficulty and addictive sound effects made this game the bane of many gamers' existences.

Mario Paint ... contains a fly-swatting mini-game, known as "Coffee Break" or "Gnat Attack," which was a fast-paced action game that took full advantage of the Super NES mouse. The player controls a gloved hand (similar to the one seen on the title screen) holding a flyswatter, which must swat flying insects on the screen, before the insect stings the player's hand in one way or another. Each level contained a counter with how many insects were left before the boss appeared. There is no final level, as the game will loop endlessly.

Mario Paint is a children's drawing game release, released for the Super Nintendo in 1992. It was a very successful game, and was, in fact, the only successful SNES game to use a mouse as the input device. Nintendo is quite well known in the gaming industry as one of the best developers of user interfaces that are intuitive for children and adults alike. As such, there is much to be learned from their ideas implemented in Mario Paint.

Mario started at the age of 12 sweeping floors and masking cars with Bill Carter of Carter Pro Paint. Bill not only gave Mario a break, but he ... hired Walt Prey, who was around the same age as Mario. This was the start of a long relationship between Mario and Walt. Walt's pinstriping work really complemented Mario's paint jobs.
