Marilyn Monroe: Marilyn Monroe Productions
built 665 days ago
Marilyn was a NOT a dumb blond bimbo. She was a savvy business woman. Fox, the movie studio she had a contract with was forcing her to do stupid, low level films that she hated. Marilyn broke her contract and fled Hollywood to study acting with Lee Strasberg at the Actors Studio in New York. She set up her own production company, Marilyn Monroe Productions. She was such a huge box office draw, Fox agreed to her terms, giving Marilyn approval of the director as well as the option to act in other studios' projects.

Three pieces of business stationery from Marilyn's production company, printed on the top margin "Marilyn Monroe Productions, Inc./444 East 57th Street/New York 22, N.Y./Eldorado 5-2325." A nice group of letterhead from MM's business venture with partner and good friend, Milton Greene; interestingly, she used her New York City apartment address as her business address. 8 1/2 X 11 inches
