The show immediately cut to commercial and host TOM BERGERON announced after the break that Marie was doing fine and had just fainted. He noted that the first thing she said when she woke up was, “Oh crap.” After coming to, she soldiered on and waited patiently for her scores backstage with partner JONATHAN ROBERTS before being seen by a medic. Roberts later said that Osmond was out cold for about 30 seconds; he ... noted that she was breathing hard and that he could feel that something was wrong before she fainted.

The morning of the week seven results show, Marie's father, George Osmond, died at age 90. She did not appear on the show and the hosts announced at the beginning of the show that Marie and Jonathan were safe from elimination. After the commercial break, Jonathan told Samantha Harris that he had spoken to Marie and she wanted to continue with the show in her father's memory.
