built 628 days ago
Margaret recently received a First Amendment Award from the ACLU of Southern California. Said Ramona Ripston: "In these very troubled times, when the rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution are in jeopardy, we applaud your courage to speak out about the dangerous policies of the Bush administration and your commitment to organizing others to do the same. More than ever before, this country needs activists and artists like you to stand up and let their voices be heard." She has ... been honored by GLAAD, American Women in Radio and Television, the Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund, the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force (NGLTF), the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund (AALDEF), PFLAG and the National Organization for Women (NOW) for "making a significant difference in promoting equal rights for all, regardless of race, sexual orientation or gender identity."

Cho was born Moran Cho[1] to a Korean-American family in San Francisco, California. She was frequently called "Moron" by other children.[1] Cho grew up in a culturally diverse neighborhood in the 1970s and 1980s, which she described as a community of "old hippies, ex-druggies, burnouts from the '60s, drag queens, Chinese people and Koreans. To say it was a melting pot - that's the least of it. It was a really confusing, enlightening, wonderful time."

Cho may not be running for governor of California -- unlike everybody else -- but she will definitely be showing MIT all that she’s got to offer this Friday. Do yourself a favor and go.
