built 627 days ago
Margaret Cho started performing stand-up at age 16 in a comedy club called The Rose & Thistle above a bookstore her parents ran. Soon after, she won a comedy contest where first prize was opening for Jerry Seinfeld. She moved to Los Angeles in the early '90s to pursue comedy and lived in a house with several other young performers. In her early twenties, Margaret hit the college circuit, where she immediately became the most booked act in the market and garnered a nomination for Campus Comedian of The Year.

Korean-American comic Margaret Cho is as brazen as they come. Brassy, witty and flinging her personal life wide open, Cho rules the stage at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles and lets loose a revolutionary barrage on everything from Asian chicken salad, ex-boyfriends (and, sometimes, girlfriends) and sex shows in Thailand. Ever present are her usual riffs on her mother and extras such as the opening set from Bruce Daniels, trailers and more.

Cho's comedy career began at the young age of 16 when she started performing stand-up in a neighborhood comedy club called The Rose & Thistle. She knew the owner well, as the club was located above the bookstore her parents ran. Soon she won a comedy contest. First prize was opening for Jerry Seinfeld. The show gave her the break every aspiring comedian hopes for, and she moved to Los Angeles in the early 90s. There, she lived in a house with several other young performers, all chasing their dreams.

"In Revolution, Margaret Cho returns to the screen with the same unbridled, no holds-barred humor that infused her previous films. With her signature style, Margaret tackles the axis of evil, her travels through Thailand's red light district, the explosion of child birth, bartering sex for household chores, Revolutionizing one's self-esteem, the joy of bodily functions, her loser ex-boyfriend, and of course, her now world-famous mother.
