For Korean-American comedian Margaret Cho, books have always been a mainstay of life. So, she says, it was natural and logical that she should someday write a book of her own, a memoir.

Korean-American comedian Margaret Cho vividly recalls performing her stand up routines above her parents bookstore at age 17. Since then Cho has taken her comedy too much higher levels and translated that talent to the big screen as well as television. With her distinctive style and powerful wit Margaret has a tremendous effect on audiences by stimulating their thought process and more importantly making them laugh. When it comes to stand up, Margaret has never been one to stand still. She is constantly working on her performance and she is currently in the middle of a large-scale tour appearing in clubs and theaters around the country. Amidst her hectic tour schedule, Cho has ... recently co-starred in John Woo’s action thriller "Face Off" which also stars John Travolta and Nick Cage.
This fall comedian Margaret Cho has been visiting swing states on a “State of Emergency Tour”. On October 29 she will perform in Jacksonville, Florida, and on October 30 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Her latest video, Cho Revolution, was released in August. Read an In These Times interview with Cho.
Margaret Cho spends 75 days a year on the road. So it's no wonder the comedian "wanted to nest" when she moved into the spacious 1920s Moorish-style home she remodeled with Al Ridenour, a graphic artist, before they tied the knot on their half-acre property five years ago.

Never one to play it safe, comedian Margaret Cho (NOTORIOUS C.H.O.) scales cultural and political barricades in this live concert performance. Taking aim with some no-holds-barred observations on racism in America, "the axis of evil," the tyranny of fashion and the President's difficulty pronouncing the word "nuclear," Cho incites an inspiring rebellion of wicked laughter and eye-opening insight. Lorene Machado directed, produced and edited this comedic call-to-arms, praised by the Chicago Sun Times as Cho's "strongest show yet!"
After doing several shows in a club adjacent to her parents' bookstore, Cho launched a standup career and spent several years developing her material in clubs. Cho's career began to build after appearances on television and university campuses. She secured a coveted spot as opening act for Jerry Seinfeld, and was featured on a Bob Hope special. She was ... a frequent visitor to The Arsenio Hall Show.[9] In 1994, Cho won the American Comedy Award for Best Female Comedian.[10]
